Advancing Strategic Decision Science Since 2014
The Nevada Institute of Game Theory is poised for an exciting future, with ambitious goals to expand its reach and influence. Building on past successes, we aim to solidify our position as a global leader in game theory research and education. Our vision encompasses advancing theoretical frontiers, applying insights to pressing societal issues, and fostering a inclusive community of scholars. We have developed a strategic plan that outlines key initiatives for the next decade, focused on innovation, collaboration, and impact.
One primary goal is to establish new research centers dedicated to emerging areas like quantum game theory and neuro-game theory, which study strategic behavior at quantum and neural levels. We plan to invest in state-of-the-art facilities, including a lab for virtual reality experiments and a high-performance computing cluster. Another goal is to enhance our educational programs by launching a fully online master's degree in game theory, making advanced education accessible worldwide. We also aim to increase diversity in the field through targeted recruitment and scholarship programs.
We will pursue these goals through phased implementation, with milestones set for each year. For example, by 2025, we aim to double the number of collaborative projects with international partners. By 2030, we hope to have influenced policy in at least 50 countries through advisory work. Progress will be regularly assessed and adjusted based on feedback and changing circumstances.
Our research priorities include addressing grand challenges such as global inequality, cybersecurity, and ethical AI using game theory. We plan to hire new faculty in cutting-edge areas and support postdoctoral fellowships for high-risk, high-reward projects. Innovation will be encouraged through internal grants and hackathons. We also intend to patent game-theoretic algorithms and tools, creating revenue streams to sustain the institute's growth.
In education, we will revamp curricula to include more hands-on projects and real-world case studies. Partnerships with K-12 schools will introduce game theory concepts early, sparking interest in strategic thinking. We envision a pipeline from school to career, supported by mentorship and internship opportunities.
The Nevada Institute is committed to being a responsible actor in the global community. We plan to launch a social impact fund that supports game theory projects addressing humanitarian crises. Additionally, we will host an annual summit on game theory for sustainable development, convening leaders from various sectors. By measuring our impact through metrics like publications, policy changes, and student success, we aim to demonstrate the value of game theory in improving lives.
We invite stakeholders—alumni, donors, partners, and the public—to join us in shaping this future. Through collective effort, we can achieve our goals and ensure that the Nevada Institute of Game Theory continues to thrive and contribute. The journey ahead is challenging but full of promise, and we are excited to lead the way.
